A NOTE ON GODPARENTS

The church requires that all godparents should be baptised and confirmed. However, the priest has the power to dispense with the requirements of confirmation in some circumstances, if in his judgement, needs so require.

For every child to be baptised, there shall be no fewer than three godparents, of whom at least two should be the same sex as the child and at least one should be of the opposite sex. If it is impossible to have three godparents then it is in order for there to be two, one of each sex. Parents may be godparents for their own children providing there is at least one other godparent. If you are having more than three please put the other details in the last box.
