Launch of Children’s Church
At the Church of the Holy Sepulchre we want to maintain and promote the inclusivity of children within the community, fellowship and services. Whilst Sunday school is undoubtedly both a wonderful and educational provision, we don’t feel that it is right for the Holy Sepulchre, at least not at the present time.
We want our children to grow in faith as we learn and grow as a community, while also being mindful of the current resources available to us.
We have therefore taken a more informal approach which maintains the full attendance of the children in both the services and fellowship meetings, not as a separate group.
Children’s church would be made up of 4 areas:
The world and liturgical calendars
Learnings and teachings of Jesus and the bible
Christianity
Promotion and invitation of educational visits
Our Children’s Church is led by Mhairi, who along with her son Freddie maintain the Children’s table in the church and lead activities as and when appropriate. Mhairi is also currently working on our offerings to schools and how our church fits into the local community and can be more inclusive and welcoming of children.
